Jan 30, · This first half of the book is easily the most interesting, rich in fairly accurate detail about Rogers' leadership and the audacious heroism of his Rangers.
It was the basis for the movie "Northwest Passage", starring Spencer Tracy. The second half of the book follows Major Rogers' further career in England and on the Northwest frontier/5(). I enjoyed this book even though it wasn't quite what I expected. It's called Northwest Passage, but it really has very little to do with the Northwest Passage.
Go figure. Other than that small quibble, I really liked the characters and the story kept me turning the pages!/5. After a bang-up end towith a fall slate that included Timothy Egan, Tom Mueller, Rene Denfeld and Ben Goldfarb, the Northwest Passages Book Club has taken a well-deserved rest.
